Healthy Granola Bars
Healthy granola bars are not typically found in stores, but granola bars are so great when you are short on time and want a nutritious snack. Try out this recipe for a healthier version of your favorite granola bar. Customize the recipe and add all your favorite mix-ins!

  1. Finely chop pitted dates in a food processor
  2. Melt nut butter, honey, and apple sauce in a microwave safe bowl
  3. Mix dates, rolled oats, and chopped nuts in a mixing bowl
  4. Pour melted nut butter/honey/apple sauce mixture over the date/oat/nut mix and combine completely (Caution: this will get sticky!)
  5. Mix in chocolate chips
  6. Spread in square baking dish and refrigerate for 1 hour or freeze for 30 minutes
  7. Cut before serving

These are great frozen, cut them up and freeze individual bars for an easy, on-the-go snack!
